ABOUT
Susan is an international public speaker, broadcaster, writer, strategic communicator & engager, and health equity changemaker.
Starting her cross sector career as a research psychologist, with time in the corporate arena, she moved on to have over two decades of leadership in the HIV and sexual health sector, spearheading innovative initiatives with national and global impact.
She’s hosted award winning international broadcast series, produced unique health video campaigns & short films for diverse communities, led successful engagement strategies, and regularly speaks at conferences & events around the world.
Susan is a mother of four, intersectional feminist passionately committed to social justice and equality. Kindness, empathy and humour cut through her work.

PUBLIC SPEAKING
Susan regularly presents & sits on discussion panels at conferences, corporate & charity events, and to institutions around the world about HIV, health inequalities, menopause, sexual health, and intersectionality.

Susan has over a decade of experience leading strategic engagement with communities and stakeholders, including through her recent role at the charity NAM aidsmap, as Head of Community & Institution Engagement.
She is available for developing engagement strategies, directly engaging with communities & stakeholders to gather insights and opinions through different mediums, running focus groups, and sharing key learnings.

Susan produces engaging information videos & campaigns, as well as short films working with a professional videographer.
She has spearheaded collaborative and impactful health improvement video campaigns including successfully encouraging people from black communities to test for HIV, raising awareness of mpox in black communities, and addressing self-stigma in women with HIV.
She has produced a short film on the benefits of nature on mental health

Susan has over two decades of experience in HIV advocacy, activism and education, sharing accurate, clear and engaging information to diverse audiences with different levels of knowledge, as well as unique insights from lived experience.
She also runs empowering peer led interactive information sessions “Knowledge is power” on how to best navigate the health system and maximise health and wellbeing.

WRITING
Susan has been writing for over three decades, including magazine articles, interviews (including with Richard Gere), online publications and scientific & health information. She is a regular writer for The Body.com and has contributed to a number of books including a chapter in “Bloody Hell! And Other Stories: Adventures in Menopause from Across the Personal and Political Sprectrum” out this year.
